Hello, writers, editors, and readers!
Roughly two years ago, I shared an update about my novel, Destiny Seeker, where I proudly held one copy of my novel. It was a big deal! I recently earned a free copy through my NaNoWriMo winnings and it felt like an official step towards publication.
In the meantime, I’ve gone through more edits and I’ve done literary agent querying. It feels like I made a lot of progress even though I don’t quite have anything to show for it.
Over the winter break, I suddenly felt a spark of an idea that I chose to accept rather than brush off. I’m going to self publish this year! So many of you already do it, so why not join the ranks? Whether you’ve known me forever or this is your first time finding me, here’s a bit of information on what’s to come.
When’s the Big Date?
Oh man, so the target release date will be August 3rd. It’s a pretty significant date for me, but I won’t say why in case I have to revise the release date. But considering what I’d like to get done, seven months is still a short time! It feels like being engaged again, hahaha. I hope you’ll be able to read my novel just before your summer is over.
Where Can I Get a Copy?
More updates will come as I can confirm it, but I’ll be publishing through Amazon. That means you’ll soon be able to get a print or e-book copy there. I hope to have my novel available on other e-book platforms to reach as many willing readers as possible. If you have suggestions, please let me know.
I will also have a few ARC copies to give out just before the release date. This means you get a free copy of the finished book before everyone else! I only ask that you leave honest reviews on Amazon and Goodreads so other readers can learn more about the book. If you’re interested in getting an ARC copy, shoot me a message via our Contact Us form or email me at whit2ney@hotmail.com. As the release date is closer, I’ll probably ask again.
There’s also the opportunity to do giveaways through Goodreads. I’d definitely love to host one of those giveaways. I’m a greedy reader who loves a free copy of just about anything, so I know how it is.
Where Can I Learn More About the Novel Itself?
That’s easy! You’re in the right spot. You can check out the official page on our website HERE, and you can see a fun, recent post that goes more into detail HERE. You can also check out a slew of snippets I wrote back when I participated in Weekend Writing Warriors in the Our Work section HERE.
Where Can I Get More Updates on the Process?
I will soon create a newsletter where you can get immediate updates on the process. The newsletter will also give readers the first heads up on when ARCs are available or when they can enter various giveaways. Please sign up for that when it’s ready! You can also catch updates through this website, as I hope to share my real ups and downs with you on the publishing process. I hope this is useful for other writers who are on the fence about self publishing.
And as always, you can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter if that’s more your scene.
Thank you so much for catching up with me and celebrating with me! I can’t wait for August to come! Share your questions or suggestions in the comments below.
The world deserves to read your work and I’m so excited you embraced that spark!
Thanks, girl! <3
So supremely excited about this!!!!!
Me too!!!!!
Congratulations, and welcome to the club! I’m so excited to read Destiny Seeker. 🙂 And I hope it goes without saying (even though I’m about to say it…) that I’m happy to help in any way I can. There’s a steep learning curve, but I know you’ll do great.
This means so much to me, Kate! You’re an example to me that it’s possible to publish quality stuff yourself. You’re an inspiration, deal with it. 😉 The decision became much easier when I decided I would publish for the sake of accomplishing a 2-decade goal rather than making a certain dollar amount.
Yeah, what Kate said! And I think that’s a great reason for self-publishing, to reach a goal rather than to make a certain amount of $$. So excited that you’re joining the ranks! (We sucked you in – muahahah!)
And I wouldn’t have it any other way, Angelika! Vielen Dank. <3
YAAASS!!! I am so excited! :] It is penciled in my calendar so I will not miss it. I mean, I also have your updates, but I am just so excited for you! Sending lots of love and good vibes in support of your endeavor and accomplishment!
Dang girl, you’re the BEST!!
