Yes, it’s time for updates. Thanks for sticking around and checking in on us. Do give us an update on your writing life in the comments or on social media!
Writing Updates & Goals
This upcoming month will be focused on formatting all the text! It took a bit longer for me to get through some edits—the developmental edits are always struggly since they take extra time and brain power. But now I’ll be focusing on writing the front matter and back matter—the fancy stuff that goes just before and after the story itself.
I’m also crushing this Goodreads 50-book challenge. I read six books in March! I’m now two books ahead. I think for April, it’d be fun to start catching up on the Lunar Chronicles. I bought the whole series and now I just need to read it!
We’re Ready for Camp NaNoWriMo
Yeah! As if we aren’t busy enough already, right? Travis and I will do a bit of writing during the month of April. We like to do Camp NaNoWriMo with softer word count goals, like 10k rather than 50k. A lot less pressure, but still a stack of new words! We’ll likely work on our current projects or just start something for fun. If any of you are doing Camp NaNoWriMo, be our friends!
We Finished the #READLIKEAGIRL Instagram Challenge
This was such a fun challenge! If you want to see the posts that I and many other Instagrammers contributed, just follow #readlikeagirl. I was so impressed by everyone’s bookstagramming abilities! I’d like to do a similar challenge in the future. What kinds of Instagram challenges do you usually enjoy participating in?
What We Wrote in March
We had some great blog posts for you! To recap, just click on them below:
We’ll be having a couple of exciting blog posts and book reviews in April, so subscribe via email, subscribe to our newsletter, or follow us on social media to be notified when they’re live.
What’s Coming in April?
To give you a sneak peak of what’s to come in April, here’s a quick list:
More Destiny Seeker Updates: Y’all, it is fun to talk to you all about book updates now that we’re getting close. Like, August 3rd close! I’d like to share another DS update with you all. If you want them even sooner, you should sign up for our newsletter! I treat my subscribers with the news before everyone else. But I will share another blog post with my progress and a peek behind the curtains about the process and what I need to do before August 3rd arrives.
Blog posts: I was a bit stressed with keeping my Destiny Seeker deadlines, so I haven’t written any blog posts besides the book reviews. I hope to answer some of your questions about intersectional feminism + writing this month!
I also still plan to write a bit about what I’ve learned about some new social media algorithm changes, plus the new buzz about Vero, so I’ll let you in on my research soon enough. Tell me in the comments if you’re fed up with algorithm changes, or which social media platforms are the most confusing to you. We can figure it out together!
Subscribe to the Wit & Travesty Newsletter
We’d love to invite all of you to subscribe! It’s different from getting emails every time we publish a new blog post. In our newsletter, we’ll share insider information on the publishing process, freebies, editing service discounts, tips, ARC reading opportunities, future book sale discounts, and more that you’ll find solely on the newsletter.
Y’all really liked the mental health post I recently shared; I’ll be sharing small mental health tips in each newsletter, so join in even just for those.
I also just shared my first full sneak peak of my cover for Destiny Seeker! Eeep! I’ve been teasing it a bit on Instagram, so I wanted to reward my newest subscribers with the sneak peak! Hope you enjoyed it!

Sounds like you’ve had a fun and productive month! Good luck with Camp NaNoWriMo — I’ll see you in the cabin. 🙂
Yes you will! As I mentioned, I’ve done little in the way of preparing, but when has that stopped me in the past? 😉
