Whitney:
Wow. Just wow. I don’t think I’ll go into much detail about my NaNoWriMo experience, since it might bore you. As in, if you participated in NaNoWriMo, you were probably more concerned with your own word count rather than how I did with mine. All I can say is that I made so many worth-while revisions to my chapters—all 30 of them—and blew the word count out of the water with just over 54,000 words.
It was a great experience because I was able to find the motivation and energy to fix a chapter each day (sometimes two!) when previously I struggled to revise a chapter over the span of two weeks.
The biggest accomplishment is that because I accomplished NaNoWriMo 2015, it also means that I’ve finished all my icky chapters and I’m finally done with my second draft! Now onto draft 3 to find typos and tie up loose ends.
As for my other goals, I wanted to cross stitch and read an Indie book. I just barely finished The Cogsmith’s Daughter and I absolutely loved it. Gotta love vacation time where you can just drop everything to read a good book. It exceeded all expectations; there’s a lot of good stories coming out of the Indie crowd, let me tell you!

Travis:
Hey folks! My November wasn’t nearly so turbulent as Wit’s (though my December is looking to be), and so I had a pleasant time keeping up with my goals. Better still, I got to indulge my gaming hobby with a new RPG and a new Star Wars game getting me hyped for The Force Awakens in a couple of weeks! So while not too hectic, it’s definitely been an exciting end-of-year!
Goals for December
- Keep writing daily
- Recuperate from this semester
