Time for another Weekend Writing Warriors snippet. Every Sunday, I join a bunch of writers through a blog hop and post an 8-sentence snippet of my current project. You can click on the link to see what everyone else is up to.
First off, hope this snippet finds you well! I had a birthday on Friday, so it was party party and then back to writing business.
We’re going back to pre-Tyk this week. For now, our dynamic duo is getting debriefed on who they have to find and ultimately convince to join Ladala’s side of the war. Based on the snippet, they certainly have their work cut out for them.
“We have to focus on the next huge player that could help us unite the other cities. We need you to find Giselle,” Liselotte said.
“Giselle?” Ilsi asked. “Is there a title with that? Queen, empress?”
“She is a lady of the woods, just like Ladala,” Liselotte answered, “except she lives alone and she isn’t an elf. We’re not sure what she is, but we suspect she’s a shapeshifter.”
“So . . . we’re looking for a shapeshifter lady who lives alone in the woods, which probably means no one probably knows what she looks like,” Reshma mused aloud. “And she’s going to help us in what way?”
Reshma is all about getting the straight facts, isn’t she? Check out other snippets here. And comment below if you’ve got a snippet to share as well!
Nice! I like Reshma. You’ve done a nice bit of character-building in this snippet. 🙂
I think Reshma is smart to get the facts straight first. Sounds like this Giselle might not be so easy to find. 🙂
Happy Birthday!
Well, getting to the facts would be good, but… are they sure she’s a shapeshifter?
And… belated Happy Birthday, Whitney!
I don’t know…. when you live in danger, you needproof more before trusting. I’m with Reshma
Yeah, it’s kinda hard for Ilsi and Reshma to decide who has a level head at this point. Seeing as how they have a conflict of interest, this scene was interesting to flesh out–who would win out and how are they going to work with each other after this is over?
