Time for another Weekend Writing Warriors snippet. Every Sunday, I join a bunch of writers through a blog hop and post an 8-10 sentence snippet of my current project. You can click on the link to see what everyone else is up to.
The past two snippets have been dedicated to an important siege. Here, Gilly has finally made it inside and there’s no turning back.
I know here’s here, Gilly thought to herself, but also every other Animan.
I’m perched on the window of his personal chambers and he’s inside! a small child’s voice rang in her mind. A buildup of excited voices crescendoed within Gilly’s mind. She had limited time and she climbed up the stairs with more gusto.
She finally went through a small door and entered a very gloomy and quiet hall. A portly woman brushed past her timidly and Gilly felt that she was probably getting closer. A small boy came through the dimly lit hall and appeared busy but as he brushed past, he planted a reassuring thought in her mind that she was very close, and she patted his head in appreciation.
The area of sheets where her hands held them up were now slightly soiled with sweat. Gilly’s heart pounded as she knocked on the most ornate door of the wing.
“Come in,” came a man’s voice from the other side.
In case the other snippets didn’t make it clear, Animen are linked by thoughts. If they wish to, they can share their thoughts with others, especially in animal form, to assure them they are friendly.
Check out other snippets here. You can also learn more about the novel, Destiny Seeker, here. Don’t forget to comment below if you’ve got a snippet to share as well! Compliments and constructive insight are equally welcome.

I like the idea of them being linked with thoughts 🙂
