Not too far from now, we’ll be part of a fantastic blog tour for Lauren Skidmore’s upcoming book, What is Lost, the sequel to What is Hidden. I got the chance to read What is Hidden when it came out last year. This girl has been busy. I’d know because we were actually friends before she was famous, you know.
What really impressed me about her first novel was her superb world-building skills. The book itself takes place in a Renaissance Italy setting where everyone’s donning the masquerade masks. Everyone knew their place based on the color and elaboration of the mask. The setting surrounding her cast of characters was fun to see. It’s a kind of place you want to visit, you know?
I’m most intrigued about reading What is Lost, mainly because of how Skidmore plans to link her two works. She plans to follow the villain as a main character on his own journey, as it were. Should be interesting.
We just wanted to give you a heads up about our part in this blog tour so you can read her first book first so my review of the second book makes more sense.
The blog tour will take place in March, so watch out for us on March 22nd. Now you can see just how ridiculous my excitement is.
What would you like for me to add in my review? Any questions?
Ask about her research methods! I’d love to hear more about her approach to world building.
A most excellent question!I’ll be sure to pester her about that.
Why Hello! I would like you to know that I have nominated you for the “Sisterhood of the World Blogging Award”! (https://brandedexplorer.wordpress.com/2015/01/27/peer-recognition-sisterhood-of-the-world-bloggers-award/)
I don’t have any expectations regarding the “obligatory response post” – honestly, I get that it is annoying to a lot of people. But I wanted you to know that I think your blog is awesome and I am hoping other people find your blog and love it as much as I do.
Best of luck to you!
Wow, honestly this is like the coolest thing ever! I’m really glad you like what we post. This totally made my day. 🙂
